Die Euryarchaeota (vom griechisch {{#invoke:Vorlage:lang|full |CODE=grc |SCRIPTING=Grek |SERVICE=altgriechisch |SUITABLE=variant prefix}} bzw. euryos, ‚Vielfalt‘) sind eine Abteilung innerhalb der Archaeen (Archaea).

Kennzeichnend für die Euryarchaeota ist die Vielzahl von Gruppen, die als Extremophile an extrem ungünstige Lebensräume angepasst sind. Darunter fallen sowohl sehr hitzeliebende Archaea (Hyperthermophile), säureliebende (acidophile Thermoplasmates) als auch salzliebende Gruppen (Halophile)[1] – die auch Anaerobie betreiben können – und methanproduzierende (Methanogene). Eine weitere große Gruppe innerhalb der Euryarchaeota bilden die in Meer lebenden marinen Euryarchaeota.

Systematik

Die gegenwärtig akzeptierte Nomenklatur basiert auf der {{#invoke:Vorlage:lang|flat}} (LPSN)[3] und vom {{#invoke:Vorlage:lang|flat}} (NCBI)[4], basierend auf Analyse der 16S rRNA.[5]

  • In der LPSN nicht zugeordnete, aber in der NCBI-Taxonomie unter Euryarchaeota geführte Vorschläge:
    • TheionarchaeaLazar et al. 2017[10] (teilweise verschrieben als Theinoarchaea; früher: Z7ME43[7])[11]
    • HadesarchaeaBaker et al. 2015 (syn. „Hadarchaeia“ Chuvochina et al.; früher SAGMEG: South-African Goldmine Miscellaneous Euryarchaeal Group).[7] Die {{#invoke:Vorlage:lang|flat}} (GTDB) stellt die Klasse Hadesarcheia zusammen mit dem Archaeen-Stamm B88_G9 (Fundort: Guaymas-Becken, Golf von Kalifornien) in ein Phylum Hadarchaeota.[12][13][14]
    • Candidate division MSBL1 (MSBL-1, Mediterranean Seafloor Brine Lake Group 1) van der Wielen et al. 2005 (syn. „Persephonarchaeia“ corrig. Mwirichia et al. 2016)[7][15] Die Vertreter der MSBL1 werden bislang (Stand 20. Februar 2023) in der GTDB nicht berücksichtigt, da die Genomdaten keine ausreichende Qualität haben.[16]
      Adam et al. (2017) sehen die MSBL1-Archaeen zusammen mit den Hadesarchaea in einer gemeinsamen Klade mit vorgeschlagener Bezeichnung „Stygia“.[7][A 1]

Eine Reihe früher zu den Euryarchaeota gestellte Gruppen wurde nach neueren Erkenntnissen zum Archaeen-Superphylum DPANN verschoben:
